announcing Chris's presentation. I looked over and thought, "hey, that's my wife." I waited for the announcements to recycle to get a photo. When I met Chris, I asked here if she saw the telly. She hadn't so we went back for a photo...
After our 10am coffee in the "Commons Room" (where only faculty are privileged to go), Chris and I then attended a wonderful presentation by a PhD candidate on the Irish press. Then it was lunch with Chris's colleague Lorraine. For the rest of the afternoon they worked. I went exploring.
Later that afternoon I returned to campus for Chris's presentation. The following photos are of Chris's very well-attended presentation that was skyped to places around Ireland, the Netherlands, and even back to the US.
Chris in action...
And here is one I like to think of as "synchronized interpreting".
There were many questions and comments by the attendees including one sent from abroad via email. After the presentation, many people wanted to meet Chris and talk with her. They had to literally chase people out of the building (by turning off the lights) to get people to leave and let Chris go.
All-in-all, it was a good day! ☘
