Here are a couple of photos of around town starting with one of the old Courthouse going back several centuries. It is now a museum and houses artifacts from the Luisitania which was sunk by a German U-boat during WW1. The attack took place about 10 miles off the coast of Kinsale.
Here is another one of the local streets near our Inn.
(Some of my musician friends may enjoy the following photo of a local establishment here in Kinsale. It sounds more like an oxymoron.)
After our coffees, we set out to walk up the ramparts and around "Compass Hill" which overlooks the entire town as well as the marina and bay. The houses along this route are a mixture of Georgian and contemporary. Some of the locals do not think too highly (being polite here) of these new homes. We still had a nice walk and enjoyed the view.
After returning to town and meeting a fellow American (Ginny) who happens to be staying at the same Inn, we decided to have a pint together. She is very interesting and has traveled around the world on her own. And it turns out that she and Rick worked in DC at the same time across the street from each other for different agencies. We then had dinner together at a lovely little pub.
After dinner, Chris and I returned to our Inn to settle in for the evening as we prepare for our return trip to Dublin tomorrow. Stay tuned. ☘
