Trinity College

Being the educators that we are, this morning was exciting. We went to see the Book of Kells and the Long Room of the Old Library. Just a short video of the Long Room to give you a bit more of the beauty:

Trinity was founded by Queen Elizabeth I in 1592. The Old Library was built between 1712 and 1732. It is a working library; one must write a letter to request a book and if approved, it is brought to a reading room -- complete with gloves for handling the old tomes.

And after a long day at the library for
us and then back to work for Chris, we thought we would have a genuine Irish dinner.

Well..., at least there were no potatoes.
