But what really surprised me was the amount of gold the Irish had and used during the bronze age (again, close to 5,000 years ago). Here are a few pictures.
The Museum also houses a collection of Viking artifacts from beginning around 850 AD and continuing for about 500 or so years that they controlled parts of the island.
Later this evening we attended another "Tunes in the Church," this time held at a local Unitarian Church. This is the first "Tunes in the Church" series for Dublin. (The series was started in Galway seven years ago. We included pictures and videos from Galway when we were there two weeks ago.)
We were suppose to see a fiddler named Dermi Diamond who plays Irish and American Old Tyme music. The concert started, however, with Cormac Begley the same accordion player from the Galway series. I am attaching a more complete version of his playing for you to enjoy.
