Sunday in Dublin

Today we went on tour around the City of Dublin. In order to do so we decided to do it on a hop-on hop-off tour bus. 🚌  It was a double-decker bus with only the front 1/2 of the upper level being covered. (Sorry I did not get a picture of the bus but maybe tomorrow).

Along the route we stopped at a couple of cathedrals: Christchurch ...

and St. Patrick's. The architecture of both ⛪️ are quite spectacular.

After that we took the Guinness Brewery tour.

This alone took several hours; the place is huge!

While there we even went to "Guinness Academy" to learn how to properly pour a Guinness draught. 🍺

Make sure you ask Chris for a properly poured one because she has a certificate stating she can do so.

After we finished a couple of perfectly poured pints 🍻 it was back on the bus for the rest of the tour.

On the way back we hit a tremendous downpour. 🌧

Fortunately we happened to be sitting under the covered section and remained dry. ☂ It was then back to the hotel and dinner at a local burger joint. 🍔

That's it for today. Tomorrow Chris has to report to Trinity College for her first day of her Fellowship. Rick will be exploring more of the town.  🚌

  1. Wow!! The country side is so lush and beautiful! You guys are having quite the adventure. Congrats Chris, on your successful presentation, we're not surprised:) I particularly like the "can" building and am touched by the potato famine sculpture. For the most part it looks like you're having great weather. 88 degrees here today, a beautiful day. Hugs, Linda
