Traveling to Annascaul

Today was a traveling day for us as we took a series of busses from Galway to the Village of Annascaul located on the Dingle Peninsula. It was a long ride on many narrow roads but well worth seeing some old castles and great scenery along the way. There is a reason Ireland is called the Emerald Isles.

And here is one with the ocean in the background.

And we saw lots of farm animals especially sheep and cows.

And once we arrived at our Inn in Annascaul we went out for a short walk and a late lunch (early supper) at the Tom Crean's South Pole Restaurant. Tom Crean was a local hero and explorer who participated in three Antarctic expeditions (including the famous ill-fated Shackleton expedition) to the South Pole. Here is a photo of my dedication to him. And Chris had her new favorite beer -- Smithwick's Irish Ale.

One last picture before turning in for the night. This photo was taken at 10 pm.
